Diversity Education Conference registration is now open
Registration is now open for the fantastic BOEP Annual Conference!
This year Four Corners School of Outdoor Education and its BOEP program are partnering with Utah State University and their iUtah EPSCoR project for our annual conference.
Bioregional Outdoor Education Project (BOEP) is a program of the Four Corners School of Outdoor Education (FCS). It is a year long, professional development program committed to helping teachers on the Colorado Plateau discover the power of “place” in everyday learning, empowering their students to grasp the significance of their own place. This conference is an annual event to bring together teachers, and other educators from the Colorado Plateau Bioregion, to learn bioregionally focused, place-based, hands-on, cross-curricular, outdoor education lessons.

Utah Senate panel advances bill to allow capturing stormwater
A Senate panel on Wednesday advanced a measure that would expand property owners’ ability to legally gather storm water for watering gardens and other "beneficial uses." Currently Utahns filling cisterns or barrels with water running off their roof risk a citation if they do not first obtain approval from the state engineer.

81st annual Western Snow Conference
Registration is now open for the 81st annual Western Snow Conference to be held in Jackson, Wyoming, April 15-18, 2013. The theme for this year's conference is "Wild Weather in the Wild West".
The Conference will begin Monday, April 15th with a short course and panel discussion on "New Strategies and Techniques in Long Range Streamflow Forecasting" with several invited experts in the field. Tuesday and Wednesday will include formal paper and poster presentations on a variety of topics, including climate variability, climate change impacts on snow and runoff, water management, water supply forecasting, and modeling and climatology of snow. Thursday will include a technical tour of natural resource management facilities in the Jackson Hole area.
