iUTAH partners with the Leonardo Museum to promote water sustainability practices
iUTAH sponsored a scholarship to provide the funding for 500 elementary students to attend a series of in-depth water workshops offered by the Leonardo Museum from Oct. 19, 2012 to Jan. 15, 2013.
The 90-minute workshops were partnered with the museum's Water Exhibit which featured a series of photographs by Paul Blackmore, an Australian photographer who focused primarily upon spirituality, recreation and conservation. His photos were spread througout the museum gallery, depicting water consumption around the world to present visitors with an opportunity to visualize the dangers of water shortage.
The water workshops emphasized these critical messages by exposing visiting students and teachers to a number of water activities that provided statistics of American water-usage in comparison with other countries. These workshops underlined why water is so critical to many aspects of life and acknowledged the fact that, for many people, water is not available anymore.
