2016 CUAHSI Biennial SymposiumConsortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc., (CUAHSI) is hosting their biennial symposium on Finding Your Place in Big Data: Using Observations to Understand Hydrologic Processes for Predicting a Changing World, July 24 - 27, 2016 at the National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, WV. CUAHSI offers early registration through June 3, and has guaranteed on-site housing available through June 15, 2016.

Dialogue on Collaboration at UUThe first Dialogue on Collaboration on June 15, 2016, 1-5 pm, at the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law. Topic: “Working with elected officials on water issues: What can collaboration bring to the table?” Invited Speakers include Ralph Becker, Former Mayor Salt Lake City and Bob Fotheringham, Water Manager Cache County. The event takes place at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, 383 S. University Street, in the John J. Flynn Workshop Room (Level 6).

Stream Side Science WorkshopsThis workshop introduces teachers to Stream Side Science lessons, watershed basics, and hands-on techniques used to teach about streams in the classroom and outdoors. The lessons are aligned to the common core and are adaptable to various ages and subjects.
- June 8 - USU Uintah Basin Campus, Roosevelt, UT 9am – 4 pm
- June 14 - Swaner EcoCenter, Park City, UT 9am – 4 pm
- July 8 - Thanksgiving Point, Lehi, UT 9am – 4 pm

2016 Great Salt Lake Issues ForumEvery two years, FRIENDS hosts the Great Salt Lake Issues Forum. Registration is now open. This year’s event will be held at the University of Utah Officers Club, Salt Lake City, UT.
The goal of the forum is to encourage constructive dialogue about the future of the Lake’s ecosystem and its resources, and to illuminate the complexities involved in research, management, and planning for the Lake. But we also explore Great Salt Lake from many different angles and in many different contexts – far beyond its resource development potential – to emphasize its ecological value as well as its intrinsic value, a value that has contributed to our history, culture, and spirit. CLE credit and student scholarship funding may be available for attending the forum.
