Cache County Natural Resource Field Days

Cache County Natural Resource Field Days is a program in northern Utah that provides fourth grade students with hands-on educational experiences that focus on watersheds. Students and their teachers spend the day at a Forest Service campground, rotating through 4 stations covering wildlife, soils, plants and water quality.

Natural Resources Field Days will be held September 9-13, 16-20

38th Colorado Water Workshop

July 17-19, 2013 - Planning for the new Normal, Colorado Water Workshop at Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado. The "New Normal" confronts us with new challenges in Colorado, the West, the nation and globally. Planning within the context of these new challenges will require close attention to scientific models as well as new socio-political realities.

Utah hosts Miss America in Salt Lake City, promoting women in STEM

Utah EPSCoR, along with Prosperity 2020, USTAR and The Leonardo hosted Mallory Hagan, the reigning Miss America, in Salt Lake City on May 10, 2013 in an effort to promote Utah women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education. Hagan, who studied bio-medical science at Auburn University for one year before changing directions and moving into the marketing area, spoke on the importance of igniting an interest in science at an early age.
