USU Science Unwrapped

iUTAH will have a booth at the USU Science Unwrapped: Great Salt Lake Today series on March 20, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Eccles Science Learning Center Auditorium. This month's topic is "Salty Metaphors: Merging Art and Science" presented by Mark Lee Koven, assistant professor in USU's Department of Art and Design.

2015 Apogee Instruments - Campbell Scientific Lecture

Michael Dukes from the University of Florida Dept of Agricultural and Biological Engineering will be speaking at the 2015 Apogee Instruments - Campbell Scientific Lecture: Irrigation Water Conservation AND Quality Landscapes: Research-Based Strategies to Have Your Cake and eat it too.  The lecture will be held Thursday March 19, 2015 at 4:00 pm in the Eccles Conference Center (ECC) – room 205/207 at Utah State University. A social will be held at 3:40 outside conference room. This lectures is sponsored by the 2015 Apogee Instruments - Campbell Scientific Lecture Series Endowment.

A one-day event for GIRLS IN GRADES 6 to 10 to learn about science, technology, engineering and math careers, and experience how fun they can be. The Event will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the SLCC South City Campus, 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City.

2015 AISES Joint Region 1 & 3 Conference.

iUTAH is offering participant support for the 2015 AISES Joint Region 1 & 3 Conference being held in Salt Lake City. This conference will address issues and topics related to building sustainable communities in Indian Country. This conference aims to engage attendees from across the Western United States and Canada in discussions about current environmental challenges within Indian Country and how Indian peoples can take address these challenges in order to build or maintain healthy, sustainable communities. Topics to be addressed include, but are not limited to, climate change, water use & water quality, sustainable natural resources development, green infrastructure, alternative energy sources, and traditional ecological knowledge. There will be a STEM Career & Education Expo, and a undergraduate and graduate student research poster competition.

Professional Development Services STEM Conference in Ogden

Professional Development Services is hosting a STEM conference on March 5 in Ogden and March 6 in Sandy. Two national speakers: Rob Stephenson and Monica Burns will be presenting. They will be focusing on STEM education and apps that teachers can use in the classroom.
