Cache Valley Historical Society

Ross Peterson, emeritus professor of history at Utah State University, will speak Wednesday, June 10, on “The Power of Water." Dr. Peterson will discuss western water development as envisioned by John Wesley Powell, and how this vision has led to the current state of water development in Utah and the West. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the Logan Historic Courthouse, 199 N. Main St., sponsored by the Cache Valley Historical Society.

The University of Utah Society, Water, and Climate is hosting a Spring Seminar Series from February 27 to March 13th. 

  • February 27th - Air quality and climate change: Challenges for science and policy
  • March 3rd - Keystone nations: Indigenous peoples and salmon across the North Pacific
  • March 6th - Anthropology and the adaptive challenges of water and climate change: Towards a transformative interdisciplinarity
  • March 10th - Remote sensing and modeling of the mountain snowpack: Tools for understanding the mountain water cycle, ecosystem function and water security under a changing climate
  • March 13th - Environmental trends in the western U.S., focusing on the role of aerosols

USU Science Unwrapped

iUTAH will have a booth at the USU Science Unwrapped: Great Salt Lake Today series on February 20, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Eccles Science Learning Center Auditorium. This month's topic is "Mighty Phragmites: Managing Invasive Plants" presented by Karin Kettenring, assistant professor in USU's Department of Watershed Sciences and USU Ecology Center.
